Royal Opening

In 2009, to mark the official opening of Bedrock’s Studio in the Queen’s Hospital, Romford.  I was asked to present a special broadcast in honour of our royal guest, HRH Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, I explained the aspects of presenting and spoke about how Hospital Radio is still plays an important roll in helping patients through their stay, plus how stations like Bedrock visit the wards talking to patients and staff, being a friend for those in need.

It was a pleasure to mee HRH Camilla, She was very pleasant to talk with.
We asked her to make a song request, ABBA – Mamma Mia. which we promptly played.

Overall, a very exciting day, I was proud to be a part of. The Bedrock suite is now known as the ‘Cornwall Suite’ in honour of our royal visit, with a plaque unveiled by Camilla marking, the occasion.

I have a photos from the visit over on Facebook
